Groups for specific demographics in the autistic adult community of NYC
Most of the groups led by members of the Autistic Peer Leadership Group aim to be demographically diverse, encompassing autistic (and similarly neurodivergent) adults of all ages (18+), races, national origins, sexes, genders, and sexual orientations.
However, there is also a place for groups of autistic people of specific age groups and other specific demographics -- especially for categories of people who are in some way marginalized in the world at large, beyond just being marginalized as non-NT.
As of February 2022, we are now launching the following:
Eventually we may also have groups of autistic (and similarly neurodivergent) adults (18+) in the following demographic categories, among other possibilities:
- Groups of autistic people of color.
- Groups of autistic LGBTQ+ people.
- Groups of autistic adults in various specific age ranges.
If you would like to start a group of autistic adults in any of these categories, feel free to attend the Autistic Peer Leadership Group and become part of our network of autistic peer leaders/facilitators.
